The holiday glow has faded, the twinkle lights are packed away, and suddenly… the house feels a little empty.
It’s that in-between season where the sparkle of the holidays is gone, but spring hasn’t quite arrived. And if you’re like me, you start craving a fresh start — not just mentally, but visually. This is exactly when I give my home a Spring Reset.
No, I’m not talking full-blown renovation or a themed seasonal look (we’re not there yet). I’m talking about intentional little shifts that breathe new life into your space and help it feel soft, light, and ready for the months ahead.
Here’s how I like to refresh my home for spring:
I swap out heavier holiday pillows and cozy winter blankets for lighter textures and softer tones. Think linen, boucle, lightweight wovens in creamy neutrals, olive, soft terracotta, or a whisper of dusty blue. You’d be amazed what a difference a few new textiles can make.
Before you buy a single thing, move your existing pieces around. That sculptural vase from the entry table? Try it on the nightstand. Art from the guest bath? Try it over the kitchen counter. A few swaps and suddenly everything feels fresh again. Even better – put come decor away that you’re just not feeling right now – you can rotate it out again later!
Spring is the perfect time to roll out a new rug — or just rotate what you have. Changing the orientation or layering with a lighter flatweave can give a room an entirely new perspective.
If you know me, you know: always florals.
Whether it’s a show-stopping arrangement in the entryway or a simple stem moment on the bedside table, florals are the fastest way to signal a seasonal shift. Fresh is fabulous, but don’t underestimate a well-sourced faux if you want longevity without the upkeep. Every January as I put my holiday florals away, I love to create something completely new – using my current florals, mixed with a touch of new, in a vase I already have.
Art is a storytelling tool — and sometimes spring calls for a lighter narrative. Swap a moody winter piece for something softer, more abstract, or color-forward. Even one small change can reframe a whole room.
Don’t forget the power of a new seasonal candle or diffuser. Citrus, herbal greens, soft florals — the scent of spring is fresh, energizing, and subtle. Just enough to say, “we’ve moved on.”
If you’re craving a little help bringing your space back to life, I’ve created a limited Spring Refresh Package — tailored for holiday clients who want to reset their space with intention and ease.
I’ll source, style, and install the pieces your home needs to feel like you again — but lighter, softer, and full of energy for the season ahead.
