When it comes to a well-executed bathroom remodel, the process doesn’t always need to be full-service to be fully impactful. As a Sarasota-based interior designer serving Lakewood Ranch, I often work with clients in different ways depending on their lifestyle—and this Lake Club project was a perfect example of that flexibility.
My client, a CEO and founder of a nationwide retailer, has a deep appreciation for design but limited time to manage the details. Having built and renovated multiple homes throughout Lakewood Ranch, he already had a trusted team in place and genuinely enjoys overseeing construction. What he needed was not project management—but vision, direction, and a fully thought-out design plan he could confidently execute.

The vision for this space was rooted in something a bit more cinematic—think James Bond meets a high-performing Washington insider. Clean, controlled, and quietly powerful. A space that feels sharp, intentional, and efficient, while still carrying an understated level of luxury. The result is a bathroom that reflects not just modern design, but the mindset of someone who values precision, performance, and elevated simplicity.
This bathroom remodel, designed for his DC-based son, was approached with a clear intention: create a modern, elevated space while keeping the investment strategic. We focused on clean lines, high-impact materials, and thoughtful functionality—proving that even a secondary space can feel refined without unnecessary excess.

One of the key transformations began in the shower. By removing the existing soffit, we were able to visually open up the space and introduce a rainhead shower, instantly elevating the experience. Custom niches were thoughtfully integrated, including a dedicated shaving niche—maximizing function in a footprint that didn’t allow for a bench.

Material selection played a major role in bringing this vision to life. We sourced a bold, veined porcelain that captured the look of marble while remaining practical and cost-conscious. This was paired with a rich verde green matte porcelain floor tile, creating a grounded contrast while subtly tying into the tones of the wall finish. The result is a palette that feels layered, modern, and intentionally cohesive—brightening the space while still delivering depth and character.

The vanity design was equally intentional, featuring a custom open shelf for towel storage and integrated LED lighting below to create a soft, ambient glow. This layered lighting approach continued with an LED medicine cabinet and mirror that not only enhances functionality but also provides concealed storage—allowing the space to remain clean and uncluttered, exactly as the client envisioned.

Throughout the process, our role was to define a strong design direction, source every material, and problem-solve the areas that required a trained eye—then seamlessly hand off a complete, execution-ready plan. From initial concept through final tile delivery, every detail was curated to ensure the end result would come together exactly as intended.
This project highlights what sets our approach apart. While we are known for full-service, white-glove design, we also understand that not every client needs—or wants—that level of involvement. Whether managing every detail or stepping in as a strategic design partner, we tailor our process to support each client in the way that works best for them.
Because at the end of the day, great design isn’t just about how it looks—it’s about how seamlessly it comes together.
